Everything Is Fine iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)

Everything Is Fine is an action game by Playful Patterns about fighting your inner demons. Depression, anger, social anxiety, and the rest of the negative emotions have taken over the land. Your job is to fight these issues head-on and heal the 5 different lands. I know this sounds like a commercial for an antidepressant, but hear me out. EIF has a unique style of gameplay. There’s a grid on one side of the screen that you can teleport anywhere. The object is to shoot down all the creatures (emotions) that are plaguing the land and collect the gems they leave behind. The game plays like most roguelikes where once you die, you must start over from the beginning. Luckily, you can use the gems that you collect to level your character up and buy power-ups. Things did feel a bit repetitive at first, but once I started leveling up, I was knocking out the first handful of levels fairly quick. Everything Is Fine is a unique game with a powerful message behind it. It may not have all the fancy bells and whistles that are in most games, but it more than makes up for it in charm. If you’re looking for something a little different on the App Store, Everything Is Fine is definitely worth picking up.
