(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Viking Hunters is an arcade-ish adventure game by indie developer, Battle Mango. The game takes place on the high seas as you control a group of Viking hunters and their ship. Every level is almost a “boss battle” against a new sea monster. Your job is to control the ship as the Vikings attack the beast. Things are not as easy as it seems. Controlling the ship is easy, but you’ll also have to battle the wind, waves and whatever else is thrown at you so that the Viking’s attacks hit their targets. I’ve been really liking this game so far. The artwork is absolutely beautiful and the music fits the Viking theme. You can also build up your little town and upgrade your weapons. Of course, Viking Hunters is F2P, so there’s the usual multiple currency thing going on. Luckily, it’s fairly easy to earn “treasure” just by playing. Regardless, Viking Hunters is a unique little gem and definitely worth checking out.
