Tombshaft iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)

Tombshaft is a vertical roguelike platformer by indie developer, Doinksoft and published under the Lucky Kat umbrella. The object of this game is to descend down ancient tombs and explore the caverns for hidden treasure. The controls are easy, but take a minute to get used to. A simple press on the left or right side of the screen makes your character move left or right, while jumps and wall slides are automatic. The screen is constantly moving up, so you’ll have to be quick in your decision making. One false move and it could be game over. You can collect coins from jumping on enemies or finding in the floors and walls. These can be used to continue your run or buy new characters. The game is of course, F2P, so the ads can get a bit annoying. Luckily, there’s an IAP to get rid of them. Tombshaft is a lot of fun. The pixel art is well done and I love the whole “tomb raiding” theme. If you’re looking for something new to play, definitely check this one out.
