(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Unhatched is a story driven card game by indie developer, Filip Loster. You play as a young dragon trainer as you swipe your way through your own unique adventure. I’m normally not a big card game fan, but I was really impressed with Unhatched. The story plays out “Tinder style” with you swiping left or right depending on the decision that you want to make. Puzzles also play a huge part in this game with over 20 different kinds of card-based games. Some of the puzzles can be a bit tough at times, but I never felt stuck in any way. The game has a cool “adaptive difficulty” mechanic that never really stops your progress.
Unhatched is an instant iOS card classic. The artwork is charming and the story is witty and well written. Even if you’re not a fan of card games, this game is still worth picking up.
