(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Break N Take is a pixel art arcade game by indie developer, Alexander Johansson. The object of the game is to destroy cities and abduct its citizens. (Get it? Break N Take?) BnT plays out like a game of Brick Breaker at first as you bounce an energy orb into buildings and crush them. Then, as the citizens are all running around, you suck them up with your tractor beam. Abducted citizens can be used to upgrade your ship with all sorts of accessories and super weapons. I was really impressed with this one. Break N Take is a blasty blast to play. The one-handed controls are really easy to use and the pixel art is well done. Not to mention, I can’t get that catchy soundtrack out of my head! If you’re looking for a fun little arcade game with a bit of depth to it, Break N Take is definitely worth checking out.
