Skallen iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)

Skallen is a pixel art puzzle/platformer by indie developer, Stefan Wiklund. You play as a human skull that is on the hunt for her lost body. At first glance, Skallen looks like just a bare bones platformer (awesome pun totally intended). And it actually is. There’s no fancy visuals or upgrades. What you see is what you get. And that’s what I like about the game! Controls are simple taps on either side of the screen to move and tapping both sides to jump. The levels are tricky and smart at times. They are also procedurally generated, so each level is unique in its own way. Skallen is a solid puzzle/platformer that focuses more on skill than extras. If you’re a fan of games like this, Skallen is free to start with a $0.99 IAP to unlock the rest. Which is totally worth it in my opinion. No bones about it! (Heh)
