(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Takoway is a perspective-puzzle game by the team at Hexagoon under the Daylight Studios umbrella. You play as a hexapus named, “Tako” as she goes on a journey to escape captivity and find her place in the world. Each puzzle has you moving Tako from point A to point B. This usually involves you changing perspective from the interior and exterior of each piece you’re playing on. Controls are simple with just tapping where you want Tako to move and swiping left to right to change perspective. Takoway is a charming and highly polished puzzler. The handcrafted visuals are beautiful and the storyline is well done. There’s a bunch of cute characters you’ll run across and friendships you’ll make along your way. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game so far. If you’re a fan of puzzle games, Takoway is a premium game well worth the price.
