Repulsive iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Repulsive is developer Punk Lab’s newest title on the App Store. This is one of those games that are tough to describe. It’s kind of a zen-like hoverboard simulation game that focuses on exploration and of course, having fun. You can play the game in portrait or landscape mode as you hover around the city while hitting jumps and seeing what kind of trouble you can get yourself into. The virtual city has this cool futuristic surveillance state feel to it that’s not too far off from the world we’re living in now. Repulsive is a game that really blossoms the more you play it. At first glance, you may think that there isn’t much to it besides hovering around, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s tons of little nooks & crannies to explore with all sorts of challenges to complete. If you’re an old (and handsome) gamer like me, you’ll notice that Repulsive has a cool 720 vibe going on. (720 is an old arcade/NES skateboarding game.) Bottom line, Repulsive is a really unique game with a lot of secrets just waiting to be found. I’ve sunk quite a bit of time into the game since it launched and still can’t get enough of it. I’m constantly finding something new. If you’re looking for something a little different, Repulsive is something that really shouldn’t be missed.
