Echoes of Aeons is a narrative driven 2D action RPG by Alchimia Studios that was recently released on the App Store under the Crescent Moon umbrella. You play as two different characters. Rin, the daughter heir to the throne of Lusec and Eldric, a young blacksmith’s apprentice. Together, they search for the truth in a world on the brink of war. It’s an absolutely HUGE story with hours upon hours of dialogue. I can’t even imagine how much writing went into this game. I found myself forgetting that I was actually playing a video game at times.
There’s so much to do and see in Echoes of Aeons. I was amazed by some of these locations and characters you come across. The game honestly feels like you are playing an animated movie. There’s so many nooks and crannies to explore and people with their own unique stories to tell. The combat is fast paced and in real-time. You control your character with a floating v-stick and buttons. I’ve been playing on an iPhone 11 and you can tell that a lot of work went into the on-screen controls. They definitely weren’t an afterthought. I honestly can’t say enough good about this game. There’s so many layers of depth crammed into everything you do and see. I will say that I wasn’t expecting the game to be as deep as it is. It’s a game that needs your undivided attention to appreciate. It’s not something that you can jump in and out of while waiting in line somewhere. It’s almost an insult trying to squeeze this enormous game into a quick SNAPP Review. (And I even added an extra paragraph!) Echoes of Aeons is a game that’s going to be on a lot of people’s lists at the end of the year. It’s an absolutely beautiful journey that every RPG fan needs to take.
