(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Order of Fate is a mysterious one. I feel like I’ve seen the game before, but it’s not pulling up in my history and it hasn’t been in any of the past iOS Roundups. (I’ve checked them all!) Not to mention, the title in the App Store is “Roguelike RPG Offline”. Anyway, Order of Fate is a roguelike RPG by Studio3 that recently released worldwide on the App Store. You play as an unnamed villager as he explores caves, dungeons, and catacombs of the Ancient Castle in order to uncover the mysteries of the dangerous cult lurking below. The game plays in portrait mode with simple tap-to-move controls or a single v-stick. The object is like most roguelike games. Get as far as you can, loot as much as possible, and get out before being killed and losing everything. It’s a familiar concept that is done extremely well in this game. Order of Fate is highly polished with beautiful artwork and a charming cast of characters. Levels are procedurally generated with tons of quests to do. The game is F2P (free to play), so of course there are two currencies and IAPs, but I haven’t felt held back in any way. Not to mention, the game can be played offline. Order of Fate is a really impressive game that’s actually a lot of fun to play. If you’re a fan of roguelikes or RPGs, definitely check this one out!
Order of Fate is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
