(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
BlitzKeep Unleashed is Flint Game’s long awaited sequel to their 2015 hit BlitzKeep. I liked the original game quite a bit when it came out. It was a cross between pachinko and maybe billiards? Regardless, it was good. This time around BlitzKeep plays in landscape instead of portrait mode. For the most part, everything else plays the same. The object is still to fling your character around the level while it bounces off enemies and (hopefully) reaches a safe zone. Flint Games did a great job not straying too far from the original formula that everyone loved. Besides the view change, everything else is there and has been cranked up to 11. There’s over 15 classes to choose from, tons of upgrades and spells to unlock, and a pretty good story. I’ve been having a pretty good time with BlitzKeep Unleashed so far. The game oozes charm. Although, I do miss the old portrait view, there’s just so much good stuff in this game that it overshadows my “no portrait mode sadness”. If you were a fan of the original game, this one should be a no-brainer. And if you’ve never played either, I highly recommend picking up Unleashed if not both games!
