Drift Season iOS SNAPP REVIEW!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

One genre that’s absolutely flooded on the App Store are these “zig-zag” types of games. It’s a simple concept especially for developers who are just starting out. Unfortunately, most of them aren’t that good and the others have been done 100 times over. But, every so often I find one that really impresses me. And that game is Drift Season by Andrii Turzhanski. Drift Season is basically a racing/drifting game that’s played on zigzag style streets. The controls are like most where you just tap on the screen when you want to turn. What makes Drift Season unique is that the tapping changes depending on how fast you are going and the vehicle you are driving. The faster you’re driving, the longer it takes for your vehicle to drift and turn. So, there’s actually a bit of strategy involved. It’s a simple concept that’s done very well. Drift Season may not have you on your phone for hours, but it’s a fun little time waster when you’re sitting in line somewhere. (If you’re not in quarantine.) There’s several vehicles to unlock each with their own unique driving habits. Not to mention each vehicle is completely customizable from performance to visuals. It would have been cool to see a bit more variety in the tracks, but as it is, Drift Season is still a fun little game worth checking out.
