(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Super Tank Blast: Alien Attack is a top-down shooter that was released last month by NLabSoft. The game plays out in an apocalyptic setting where humanity is on the brink of destruction and it’s up to you to save it. You know the story in these shooter games. You’re always saving the world from something. Anyway, Super Tank Blast plays out a lot like Archero at its core. You fight off endless waves of enemies and you upgrade your gear every so often. Once you die, you lose your upgrades, but keep the “blood vials” that you earn. The blood vials can be used to upgrade weapons and research new skills. Super Tank Blast is far from perfect. The visuals aren’t the greatest, the economy isn’t very balanced, and of course, it’s a huge grindfest. BUT……it’s still a lot of fun. There’s something about mindlessly blowing up aliens with an overpowered tank and seeing how long you can last. Sure, the game is a bit rough around the edges, but it’s still worth checking out. The single-stick controls work well and there’s enough stuff to unlock/upgrade to keep you grinding for quite awhile.
