(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
EverCrawl is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler by Luka Parascandalo that was released on the App Store back in October. It’s a unique grid-based game where you can only move one space forward at a time. With no ability to move backwards, each move must be strategic. I will say that the game can be brutal at times. There are plenty of traps and enemies that will cut your run short. As you progress, you’ll earn experience that unlocks different classes, color palettes, and more. You can also pick up coins during each run that can be used to upgrade your character. I’ve really been digging EverCrawl so far. The game does a great job with making each run feel a little different even though you’re technically playing the same thing over and over. There’s plenty of things to work towards with 7 different classes, 4 unique biomes, and a bunch of different items to be found. If you somehow missed this one a couple of months ago, EverCrawl is definitely worth picking up!
