Momentum iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Momentum is a turn-based roguelike by indie developer Jonathan Fouk that was released on the App Store back in September. At first glance, Momentum may seem like your run of the mill turn-based game. What sets this game apart from the rest is its unique real-time combat mechanics. Even though each match is turn-based, you can parry incoming attacks if you time it perfectly. It’s a cool mechanic that’ll have you learning every enemy’s attack patterns. Momentum is one of those games that take a little while to get the hang of. I was horrible at first. But, the more I played, the more I fell in love with the game. There’s tons of equipment to upgrade, relics to find, and rewards to unlock. Not to mention, the developer has been constantly tweaking and adding to the game with multiple updates. If you somehow missed this one when it originally released or set the game aside because you were horrible at it (like me), now is a great time to give Momentum a try. Especially seeing how the game just started its 3rd season on February 1st!
