(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
The County Hotel is a pixel art arcade game by indie developer Daniel Rasmussen that was recently released on the App Store. You play as a “Hotel Counter” as your job is to keep track of guests coming in and out of the hotel. It’s a simple concept that can get tricky over time. What I really like about this game is the nothingness of it all. You’re basically just counting guests and that’s it. Everyone knows how to count, so everyone can play. The County Hotel keeps you drip-fed by earning coins at the end of each day to upgrade your hotel with new amenities. The game all boils down to keeping track of your guests and keeping your 3-star rating. Of course, there’s some other surprises that I won’t mention. Regardless, The County Hotel has been a pretty fun game so far. It doesn’t need that much of your attention and can be played in bite sized chunks. If you’re looking for something different, definitely check this one out!
