Pocket Skate iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Pocket Skate is an arcade-style skateboarding game that was released on the App Store back in August by indie developer Peter Leary. It’s a pretty cut & dry game where you get one minute to skate your ass off and try to get as high of a score as possible. Before each run, you’ll also get a little challenge to try and complete during your run. It’s a simple formula, but it works really well. The controls are pretty smooth, but did take me a bit to get used to at first. Pocket Skate is one of those games that I couldn’t seem to put down until I completed almost everything. You can unlock new tricks, characters, and parks for completing challenges and getting good scores. The only downside is that there just didn’t feel like there was enough of the game. There are 3 different parks, 10 skaters, and a bunch of tricks to unlock. I wanted more of everything! Regardless, Pocket Skate is a whole lot of fun! If you’re a fan of skateboarding games, definitely check this one out!
