(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
The whole “Archero” style mechanic works well in game, but has been overdone in the past couple of years. So, you see a lot of developers trying to tweak the formula a little to make things fresh. Her Name Is Necromancer does a good job with this. The game was recently released on the App Store by Shuji Hara and you play as a Necromancer as you summon the dead to fight off multiple waves of enemies. As you progress, you’ll be able to buy new equipment and contract new monsters to summon. HNIN isn’t the greatest looking game. The visuals look dated and the character design is pretty basic. But, the game is still pretty fun considering. So, if you’re not totally burned out on top-down survival games, Her Name Is Necromancer is a fun little title.
