Tainted Treasure iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Tainted Treasure is a reaction-based roguelike that was recently released on the App Store by indie developer Marvin Wardius. It’s a 2v2 battle game where you try to clear as many stages before eventually meeting your demise. The game mechanics take a bit to get used to, but are pretty satisfying once mastered. It’s all about waiting for the right moment to strike or dodge. Each enemy and attack has a telltale sign when the perfect time to strike is. This could be an enemy’s ear moving before they attack or your blade shimmering when it’s time to slice. It’s all about studying your enemies and swiping at the right time. As you progress, you’ll be able to change weapons, pick up items, and unlock new color palettes. Tainted Treasure is a tough game, but a lot of fun once you start figuring things out. I wish there were a little more enemy types and weapon variations, but there is still plenty here to keep you busy. If you’re looking for a challenge, Tainted Treasure is worth picking up.
