(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Rytmos is an isometric puzzle game by Floppy Club that was recently released on the App Store. The game takes you on a musical journey through over 20 different musical instruments. At first glance, I honestly wasn’t expecting much with this game. There are a bunch of these isometric puzzle games that have been released over the years. But, once I dug into the game, Rytmos really won me over. Puzzles start off pretty simple with each puzzle adding sound to a different piece in that planet’s (level) song. Once you finish up all puzzles and complete the song, the game introduces you to that instrument that you’ve been hearing. You get a bit of history on the instrument and can even jam along with the song and record the track. It’s all the extra polish that makes this game special. Puzzles start to really change up once you get to the third planet or so. It wasn’t enough to frustrate me, but the game really made me use my brain to finish some of these levels. All in all, Rytmos is a really unique experience with some tricky puzzles. There’s a ton of polish and a lot of cool instruments to learn about and play around with. If you’re a fan of music or puzzle games, Rytmos is worth checking out.
