First Person Hooper iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

First Person Hooper is an arcade basketball game by Starch Digital that was released last month on the App Store. It’s a simple game that’s about scoring as many shots as you can. What makes this game unique is its first-person perspective. The game controls like your average first-person shooter. You use your left joystick to move around the court, the right joystick to look around, and 3 buttons for running, shooting, and locking-on. At first, I wasn’t very impressed with FPH. There just wasn’t a whole lot there. It seemed more like a tech demo than a game to me. But, once I played a few rounds, the game really started to grow on me. There are 3 different modes to play. A Score Attack mode, Time Attack, and Zen Mode which is basically freeplay. I spent most of my time in Arcade Mode while trying to hit as many power-ups as possible, but the other two modes are just as fun. There’s not a whole lot to First Person Hooper and I think that’s what makes it special. If you’re looking for a good time killer and like shooting hoops, FPH is worth checking out.
