Mini Blaster iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Mini Blaster is a minimalist arcade shooter by Annulus Games that was released on the App Store back in August of 2021. It’s a simple single-joystick shooter with a bit of roguelike mechanics thrown in for good measure. I’ve had this game on my phone since release and it’s one of those games that I can always go to when I need to kill some time. You control a square as you take on endless waves of geometric enemies. After each wave, you’ll get your choice of one of two upgrades that you can use to make it through the next wave. Upgrades stack until your eventual demise. As you progress, you’ll earn coins that you can use to purchase new shapes and color palettes. Mini Blaster is a solid high-score chaser with simple mechanics and GameCenter leaderboards. If you missed this one back when it originally released, I highly recommend checking it out now.
