Funtasia iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Funtasia is a 2D side scroller and the newest game by Fantastico Studio. Similar to their past game Hero Express, Funtasia has you controlling a vehicle as you make your way through each level dodging obstacles and picking up fuel canisters. That’s about it where the two games compare. Funtasia is like an acid trip on wheels. The object is to make it through each level and fight the boss. As you progress, you’ll pick up coins that you can use to upgrade your vehicle’s stats. Each level is themed with its own unique world, vehicle, and boss. The vehicles behave a little differently from each other, but it’s ultimately the same thing. Upgrade your vehicle until you can make it through to the end of the level. The bosses are where this game becomes a challenge. Each boss has their own patterns and attacks. This is where I struggled. Some of these bosses can be ridiculously complex. Luckily, you don’t have to kill the boss to unlock the next level. Either way, I’ve been having a lot of fun with Funtasia so far. I love the floaty physics and the controls are perfect for mobile. If you’re a fan of these Hill Climb Racer-style games or just want to play something unique, Funtasia is definitely worth picking up.
