Vactics iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Vactics is a tactical mech building game that was recently released on the App Store by Gerard Delaney of The Lemur Conspiracy. In this game you control a mech in a post apocalyptic world as you try and fight for a better future. Vactics plays similar to a game of checkers or even chess. You and the enemies take turns moving across the board as you try to defend yourself and clear out all threats. Of course, there’s a lot more strategy involved. Each board is randomly generated, so each run is different from the last. Not to mention, each move you make wears down your mech’s battery. So, while you are trying to survive, you are also trying to conserve energy. As you progress, you’ll unlock new upgrades for your mech, new pilots with their own unique abilities, and even new color palettes. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game so far. Vactics is a near perfect game that keeps you constantly wanting one more run. That being said, only a fraction of the game is F2P with either a $4.99 for 3 months subscription service or a forever unlock at $12.99. I will say that $12.99 is a bit steep for mobile. Regardless, Vactics is a solid strategy game with a ton of things to unlock. So, if you’re looking for a unique strategy game, Vactics is definitely worth trying out!
