Star Survivor (Premium) is a survival-style roguelike by SpaceOwl that was recently released on the App Store under Erabit Studios. Similar to most survival games, Star Survivor has you pitted against hordes of enemies as you try to survive for as long as possible. As you collect experience, you’ll unlock upgrade cards that you can use to help you along each run. What makes this game unique is the fairly deep campaign. You kind of choose your own path in the campaign. So, instead of just endlessly killing enemies, you’ll have missions to pass. These can range from killing X amount of enemies, gathering EXP gems, or simply lasting a certain amount of time without dying. As you progress, you’ll find merchant outputs where you can upgrade your ship. I was actually worried about this game when I first started playing it. The notification for personalized ads popped up when I first opened the app up. But, luckily there hasn’t been a single ad or IAP in my hour or two of playtime. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game so far. Star Survivor is fairly deep with quite a bit of content. Outside of the meaty campaign, there’s also a Challenge Mode and an Endless Mode on the way. If you’re into survival games or shooters, you’ll most likely enjoy Star Survivor.
