Prospector Run iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Prospector Run is a pixel art endless runner that was recently released on the App Store by developer Luke Gittens. In this game you play as a lone miner as you try to make your way through endless caverns before your inevitable death. Similar to most endless runners, Prospector Run has your character auto-running while you simply tap on the screen to jump. During each run, you’ll be faced with randomly generated caves to keep things spicy. As you progress, you’ll pick up coins that you can use for new skins and upgrades. Only one upgrade can be used at a time, but they do change up the gameplay a little. The flamingo floaty will let you float on water, the shield will give you an extra life, and so on. I’ve always been a fan of endless runners. They are the perfect genre for mobile. Prospector Run makes me miss the days when these games were plentiful. The pixel art is absolutely beautiful and I love the overall theme. I will say that I wish that there were a few more upgrades to grind for and the game is definitely lacking in GameCenter leaderboards. One of the funnest things with endless runners is trying to beat your friends. Regardless, Prospector Run is a solid game with a lot of charm. If you’re at all a fan of endless runners, definitely check this one out!
