Recontroller iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Recontroller is a pixel art shooter that was recently released on the App Store by Japanese developer Tomoya Uchiike. The game has you controlling a spacecraft as you take on waves of incoming enemies. Enemy ships will come in from either side of the screen while you use the dual-stick controls to dodge bullets and shoot down anything in your way. As you progress, your guns get stronger, and the waves of enemies get tougher. By level 20 or so, Recontroller starts to feel like more of a bullethell than your standard shooter. Everything else about this game is a mystery. With not much of a description, I don’t know how many levels there are or if it’s an endless shooter. The only way to find out is to keep playing it. Recontroller doesn’t have any leaderboards, it doesn’t have a story, it doesn’t have any kind of bells and whistles. But, I can say that Recontroller is fun. If you’re looking for a new shooter to play, this one is worth checking out.
