Rezcue iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Rezcue is a pixel art puzzle game and the first game to be released on the App Store by developer Neonso. Rezcue has a simple premise. Save the princess in as little moves as possible. The gameplay is kind of a mixture of a maze-style game and Tetris. You’ll need to maneuver your character around blocks and climb vines in order to reach the princess. Things start off pretty simple at first , but the game does a good job by adding new elements as you progress. The writing in Rezcue is actually pretty witty too. By level 8 or so, I figured out that you can actually get stuck in a level and need to start over……That’s when I started getting frustrated with this game. Rezcue can be a bit aggressive with ads, but I was cutting it some slack due to it being F2P. An ad will pop up between each level regardless of how fast you finished it. Thankfully they are ads that can be closed out after 5 seconds, so I never lost immersion. But, if you get stuck in a level (and it can happen often in later levels, you are forced to sit through a 50 second ad in order to start that level over. Even if you close the app out and restart, you will need to watch that ad before playing. I understand that the developer needs to eat, but this is way too aggressive in my opinion. Rezcue is a fun little puzzle game with some unique level designs. Although, I highly recommend picking up the ad removal IAP.
