Loop Hero iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

I’m sure most of you have already heard about the game Loop Hero by Four Quarters. It originally released back in 2021 on Steam and has been ported just about everywhere since then. Well, now it’s on mobile under the Playdigious publishing umbrella. I won’t go into too much detail about the game, but you’re basically stuck in a timeless loop where your character walks around randomly generated paths as you manage their gear and surrounding areas. As you progress, you’ll reconstruct your camp helping you grow stronger each run. I’ve sunk tons of hours into the Switch version of Loop Hero, but I will say that I’ve enjoyed my brief bit of time on mobile more than the Switch. The game feels like it’s made for the touchscreen. Tapping cards and dragging & dropping feels so much more natural than using a joystick and buttons. The developer did an excellent job revamping the UI and even adding GameCenter achievements. I’ve played both the iPhone and iPad versions and even though both play perfectly well, playing on the iPad was way better. Text and gear slots can be a bit small when playing on a normal iPhone. Regardless, I feel like mobile is the definitive version of Loop Hero if you haven’t played it yet. Especially if you own an iPad. The game is “free to try”, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be checking this one out.
