Tamago iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Tamago is a quirky arcade game that was recently released on the App Store by developer Michele Baldini. Of course, I love weird games, so this game caught my eye when I saw it. Tamago is simply a game about making eggs. Each level will have an order at the top of the screens with the ingredients needed to prepare the dish. The object is to collect all the floating ingredients by tapping on the left/right side of the screen (Lunar Lander style) to move your egg and eventually land back on the frying pan. The controls do take a bit to get used to. It’s pretty easy to lose control of your egg and have it flying off the screen. As you progress, you’ll start running into crazy obstacles that you will need to navigate around in order to complete your dish. Tamago is a weird, but charming game that almost feels like you’re stepping into an old Japanese kitchen. Along with the main level-based game, there’s an arcade with a few different high-score chasers and a shop that I haven’t figured out what it’s for outside of buying more eggs. If you’re looking for a weird little time killer, Tamago is definitely worth checking out.
