(From The Attic is a way for us to bring new life to older titles. With so many games releasing on the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook a game or two or forget about a game you once played, but never finished.)
Reaper: Tale of the Pale Swordsman is an action RPG by indie developer, Hexage that originally released on the App Store way back in 2013. War has broken out between the Imperium and the savage tribes of the Wilderness. You play as an unnamed swordsman that’s just trying to survive through it all. The game plays like a side scroller with left and right virtual buttons. Your character auto-attacks as you tap and swipe for jumping and special moves. You can make your own choices and choose whatever side that you want to help out on. Throughout the game, you’ll run across different characters to help out, shops to buy new equipment, and tons of secrets to find. Reaper is an absolute gem. The visuals are beautiful and depending which edition you buy of the game, there’s quite a bit of content packed in. You can download and play part of Reaper for free and then purchase the full game with one of three IAPs. The Dark Legend Edition gives you the most with Dark Harvest Mode, Torken Arena, new side quests, and a bunch more. Reaper: Tale of the Pale Swordsman still holds up today just as much as it did 6 years ago. It looks and plays great on current hardware and of course, is just as fun. If you haven’t played this game yet, do it now.
