Echo of the Pureland iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Echo of the Pureland is an open world RPG by new developer Natsu Nuts Games. You play as the brave adventurer Lukan (at first) as you try to save the Dwarven Homeland from evil. Echo of the Pureland is a tough one to recommend. On one hand, the game is absolutely beautiful. It’s got a big open world with tons of random enemy encounters, hidden chests, puzzles, and more! You can tell the game takes a lot of inspiration from Breath of the Wild. From breakable weapons, to puzzle shrines that you need to find and unlock. There’s so much to explore and it’s all done with a single joystick. It’s honestly amazing how everything is put together. What makes the game tough to recommend is that I’ve been honestly playing for a couple hours and have no clue what I’m really doing. There’s no real guidance in the game. After a short story, you are just thrown into this open world and handed some basic gear. I felt like I was just roaming around with no place to go outside of the shrines I found. Even with all of that, Echo of the Pureland is still a great experience. With a few tutorial tweaks, it could really be a great game.
