(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
RUBY is an endless runner that was released on the App Store back in July of 2021. You play as “Ruby” who has been stranded on Mars for the past 176 days since her crew was attacked. Your job is to search for crew members and try to survive as long as possible. RUBY is pretty much your standard endless runner. Your character auto-runs as you jump over obstacles and try not to run into anything. What makes this game a little unique is that each run is randomly generated. So, there are no patterns to learn due to each run being different than the last. With there being so many endless runners out there, it’s tough to get excited when you run across a new one. But, I ended up really liking RUBY. There’s a shooting element involved which makes things feel more like an action game. As you progress, you can buy new weapons, mods, and skins to kind of change things up a little. RUBY doesn’t really bring anything new to the endless runner genre, but it does a great job sticking with the classic formula. If you’re looking for a fun little time killer, RUBY is worth checking out.
