(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Zombotron Re-Boot is a side scrolling action game that was recently released on the App Store. The game has you taking control of a lone soldier as you make your way through a deserted landscape and you try to take out anything that stands in your way. Zombotron was originally a flash game that was released back in 2019. Since then, there were a couple popular sequels that were also released. I never played any of the Zombotron games, so I went into the re-boot fairly fresh. I was pleasantly surprised by this game. The levels are well thought out and the 2D visuals are full of depth. The controls, albeit wonky, work well enough to get the job done. I’ve been having a lot of fun with Zombotron so far. The destructible environments, the unique character design, the whole game is pretty cool for finally playing it for the first time in 2023. My only real issue with the game is the lack of progression. There’s nothing to upgrade, nothing to unlock, etc. That’s just the mobile gamer in me that’s used to always bringing for something I suppose. Regardless, Zombotron Re-Boot is a really solid shooter with tons of zombie killing action! I’m glad to see it finds its place on mobile. If you’re a fan of action side-scrollers, definitely pick this one up!
Zombotron Re-Boot is also in this week’s SNAPP Roundup!
