Margonem Adventures iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. Usually we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Margonem Adventures is a roguelike RPG that was released on the App Store about a month ago by developer Garmory SP. The game has technically been in Early Access and didn’t release in the greatest state, so I kind of sat on it for a while. Thankfully the developer has been making weekly updates fixing a lot of the issues. Margonem Adventures has a lot going on at first glance. To be honest, it took me quite a while to really get into the game. There’s resource management, deck building, and a main village with a bunch of different places to upgrade and visit. Throw in the F2P mechanics and it all gets pretty overwhelming. The main gameplay loop is what hooked me though. You go through dungeons while quickly pulling cards and fighting off enemies in real time. The fighting is fast-paced and really fluid, making things a hell of a lot of fun while playing. In between levels, you’ll visit the village where you will upgrade your gear, refine your deck, and more. Margonem Adventures is a lot of fun once you get the hang of things. That doesn’t mean that it’s perfect by any means. Unfortunately, with the game being free to play, you’re stuck with daily check-ins, dual currencies, loot crates, a battle pass, and a gameplay (energy) timer. But, if you can get past that and have some patience, there’s definitely some fun to be had with Margonem Adventures.
