(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
I’m a sucker for 80’s themed games, so I was excited when I saw this one. OutRush is a fast paced reaction-based game by the team at ugindie where you are trapped in an alternate reality. The goal is to find a way out with a little bit of help from the outside. You fly one of several ships as you swipe your way through quick 1 minute levels. Controls are done with simple swipes or buttons if you wish. (I chose swipe controls.) Each level is fast and frantic as you try and make your way through an onslaught of obstacles. I was really surprised at how much I liked this game. The vapor-wave visuals are absolutely beautiful and the synth-wave music is perfect. There are GameCenter leaderboards, a level editor, and you can even collect fragments that you can use to purchase new ships. OutRush is an absolutely stunning mobile game that should be played by anyone with an iPhone.
