(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Bridge Strike is a retro-style vertical SHMUP (shoot em’ up) by indie developer, R3D Project. Armed foreign forces are moving in for an attack. It’s up to you to stop the threat! Those of you that have played the old River Raid game will feel right at home with Bridge Strike. The game has you traversing through clouds while dodging cliffs and shooting down anything that moves. The controls are pretty smooth with using one thumb to move your aircraft and using your other thumb to shoot. You’ll also have to keep an eye on your fuel and use aircraft carriers to fill up when you need it. Bridge Strike is a pretty fun little game. You have two game modes and several different aircraft you can unlock with the coins you collect. I would have liked to have seen some upgradable weapons, but that’s honestly nitpicking. If you’re a fan of retro games or SHMUPS, Bridge Strike is definitely worth checking out.
Bridge Strike is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
