(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
KOZMONAUT is an ambitious hybrid clicker/idle game that was recently released on the App Store by indie developer Mike Twomey. You play as a lone astronaut working for a mysterious entity called the “Tendril Mind”. The game mashes up a bunch of different genres and it somehow all comes together. The main objective of KOZMONAUT is earning spacedust. This is basically your currency. You can build mines which act like an idle game with resource management. You also have to defend your mines from attacks. There’s honestly so much to do in this game. Almost too much to list in a single paragraph. You can go out and explore planets for secrets, there’s wave-based shooting, tower defense, there’s a risk vs reward gambling mechanic with acquiring elements, missions to complete, boss fights and more! It’s a really unique game that’s overwhelming at first. It took me a good 15-20 minutes of poking around before I somewhat figured out what the hell I was doing. KOZMONAUT is a clicker/idle game at its core with a lot of grinding involved. But there’s enough other stuff going on that I never found myself bored. Confused yes, but not bored. So, if you’re looking for something different, KOZMONAUT is definitely worth digging into.
KOZMONAUT is also in this week’s iOS Roundup!
