Stone Story iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Stone Story is a role playing game that was recently released on the App Store by indie developer Martian Rex. The game has you making decisions for a lone adventurer that has recently picked up a mysterious stone. From there, it’s up to you on how your adventure plays out. Stone Story is one of those games that get better the more time you spend with it. I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t really a fan of the gameplay at first. Similar to games of the past, Stone Story kind of plays itself while you make all the major decisions. (Think Oregon Trail) But after I spent some time with the game, this RPG really started to show its depth. There are tricky puzzles, side quests, major battles, and a whole lot more. I can’t help but appreciate how much work went into this game. From the painstaking ASCII animations, to all the items and weapons created. It’s crazy that this entire game was created with old school text. Development process aside, Stone Story is a beautifully crafted RPG with a good story and a ton of content. If you’re a fan of strategy or role playing games, definitely check this one out!
