Home, Planet, & Hunters iOS SNAPP Review!

(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)

Home, Planet, & Hunters is a pixel art RPG that was recently released on the App Store by Black Pearl Games. The game has you controlling a squad in a post apocalyptic world as you explore, fight, and loot. HPH plays a lot like the old Braveheart games. Your characters auto-attack as you drag each one towards enemies. You usually have a healer, a melee fighter, and a gunner. So, you’ll need to strategize during each fight to keep everyone alive. I’ll be honest. I was hesitant about this game at first. Free 2 Play RPGs are usually chock full of timers and IAPs. HPH is actually a pretty fair game. Yes, there are IAPs for gold and there is definitely some grinding involved, but most of the game feels……well, feels like an actual game. The story is deep and well written, the pixel art is gorgeous, and there is a lot to do. My only issue is that the UI can be pretty small when playing on an iPhone. Especially when you’re on the upgrade screen with a lot of text going on. Regardless, if you’re a fan of RPGs or liked the Braveheart series, Home, Planet, & Hunters is definitely worth checking out!
