(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
Tiny Time Travellers (Travelers) is a side scrolling platformer by indie developer, Koen Digital. You play as a time traveler named, Ernest as he tries to rescue his friends from the evil “Time Wizard”. What’s cool about this game is that it takes you through Ancient Egypt, Medieval England, Ancient Greece, and even a futuristic Korea. (I love themed games.) In between levels, you can purchase new weapons and outfits with the coins you collect. Between the weapons and different time periods, things always feel pretty fresh. There’s also plenty of things to collect and unlock. TTT isn’t perfect though. The on-screen controls feel a bit stiff and it’s frustrating that you have to lift your thumb off the screen to move from left to right. It makes things tough when your caught in tight situations, when just rolling or sliding your thumb would have made things so much easier. Regardless, Tiny Time Travelers is a great adventure. The pixel art is well done and the story/characters are charming. Any fan of old school platformers should have Tiny Time Travelers on their device right……about……NOW!
(UPDATE: TTT was recently updated with a fix to the L/R control scheme. It works perfectly now! Kudos to the dev!)
