(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time/money.)
It’s been a little while since we did an “official” SNAPP Challenge!
Chimp Copter is a casual physics-based game by indie developer, Dominick John. Your job is to help Chimpy become the pilot she’s always dreamed of. You do this by helping her fly her homemade pedal-copter. Flying takes a little getting used to. You have to alternate tapping on the left and right side of the screen to lift, while tilting your device to move forward. The controls are loose and wonky, but in a good way. Just making it a handful of feet had me feeling like a champ! Eventually, I started getting the hang of things and was having some impressive runs. Chimp Copter is a fun little high-score chaser. The pixel art is well done and there’s even a bunch of different helicopters to unlock with the coins you collect. I would have liked to have seen GameCenter leaderboards, but you can’t have it all. It’ll make this week’s SNAPP Challenge a little tougher to judge, but we’ve done it before. If you’re wanting to get in on the action this week or just want a fun little time killer, Chimp Copter is definitely worth a download!
(For everyone joining this week’s SNAPP Challenge: Take a screenshot of your best run and post it in our Discord or on Twitter with the hashtag, #SNAPPRoundup!)
