(SNAPP Reviews aren’t really full-fledged game reviews as much as they are just a way for us to give you a quick “heads-up” on whether a game is good or not. It usually means that we haven’t finished the game yet, but have played a good enough chunk to know if it’s worth your time or money.)
Level Devil is a level-based platformer-ish game and the newest game to release on the App Store by Adam Corey of Unept. In this game the objective is pretty straightforward. Get the character from point A to point B to finish each level. You have three buttons to get you to where you need to go. (Left/Right/Jump) Things seem simple at first. You might have a platform move when you walk up to it, or a hole widens as you’re jumping over it. But, once you get through the first couple batches of levels, Level Devil really starts to feel like it’s trolling you. I’m not much of a “rage-quitting” kinda guy, but this one definitely had me pissed off more than a few times. That’s all part of the game’s charm though. Level Devil is a fun little platformer with some kooky ideas. My only issue is that you can’t roll your thumb from left to right to move your character. You have to physically lift your thumb off the screen to make an input. This can be a bit frustrating when trying to switch directions really fast. Who knows? Maybe that was done on purpose to help cause tension? Regardless, Level Devil is still a lot of fun. If you’re looking to get your frustration on, definitely check this one out!
